Locks of Love

Renee is a hair stylist with a big heart. For her Civic Engagement Project, she decided to get in touch with Locks of Love, a nonprofit organization that creates hairpieces from real human hair. Renee was able to raise over $200 dollars at an event she sponsored at her salon. In addition, she is now certified by Locks of love to accept hair donations.  Renee was surprised by all the interest others showed in her project. Other stylists contacted her about how they might get involved! Renee writes, “My choice of being a hair stylist demands a lot of patience, so when it comes to dealing with someone difficulties [sic] it requires getting a full understanding of what I can offer and what’s expected of me in knowing what the client wants and remembering to always consider people fillings [sic] when dealing with such a topic about hair issues.”
