This four-person group’s $20 Challenge Project raised awareness of discrimination against members of LGBTQIA (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex, Asexual) communities, and it encouraged students to become actively involved in supporting LGBTQIA rights. The event centered on the screening of The Out List, an HBO documentary comprised of personal interviews with LGBTQIA celebrities, followed by an hour-long discussion led by the group. PRIDE (People Respecting Identity Differences and Equality) representatives aided in the discussion and informed students of upcoming opportunities to act in support of LGBTQIA rights. A representative from student counseling attended to provide support as necessary. (Based on a summary by Alyssa Matlon.)
