The “Furries Stop Worries” was an event where two students brought dogs from a local shelter, Indigo Rescue, to campus during midterms to help relieve student stress. (Research shows that the best method to help college students relieve their stress is petting and playing with animals). Over 250 students got a break from the stress of studying and the shelter dogs got human love and attention. They also collected money for Indigo Rescue, and raised awareness about dog adoption. For more information, see their electronic portfolio which includes some adorable pictures.

A similar event, Paws for Our Cause, was organized in Spring 2014. Four students worked on this project raising over $175 and donating a big gift basket to Indigo Rescue. See their electronic portfolio, which includes some awesome pictures on their home page.
