Bringing Music To The Teen Center

For his civic engagement project, Wilson chose to bring together the youth community by organizing more live music events. Wilson worked at a Teen Center that had been going through a “dry spell” with community building music events. Over the six months since Wilson’s employment, the center had hosted only two live band nights—a significant drop from the past, when they featured two concerts a month. Wilson explained that his project related to ethics as it cared for others by improving their basic need for community. When reflecting on his civic engagement project, Wilson said “I this assignment works well…it brings a good message and helps students get more involved in their community.”
