During her time at Bethel School of Ministry, Mika was the student-leader of a small group of students chosen to write curriculum to teach children supernatural creativity. They composed a manual of step by step lessons for adults to teach children how to pair worshiping God with the creative arts. There are six lessons, each pairing one art medium with one aspect of connection with God.
Mika says, “Overall, I feel this project went very well. I am excited to measure its long-term effects in the future but I believe this was a good starter and catalyst to help launch Hillsboro Vineyard and its children’s ministry into supernatural creativity. I achieved my goal of implementing the manual lessons in a real-life setting and seeing the concepts and activation applied practically. I learned a lot about my personal leadership style and need to explicitly communicate. I saw the children learn and begin to apply creative skills that helped them develop personal skills over time. They learned skills such as: confidence, personal creative expression, verbal and non-verbal communication, and symbolic interpretation and I hope these continue to grow even after I’m gone. I believe I was successful at equipping Hillsboro Vineyard Church and their children with tools to expand on in the future and continue to develop for the sake of their personal expression and the community around them.”
