The Animal Ethics Club–founded in 2007 — started as a civic engagement project. Four students created the club, organized work parties at a local farm sanctuary and a clinic for homeless people and their animals, educated students about vegetarian and vegan food, served free vegan food, adopted a turkey, held cooking demonstrations and movie nights, and raised money for local animal groups.
Since then, other students have continued doing animal-related civic engagement projects. Lexie and Dao, for example, organized a number of volunteer parties and a very successful movie night for their CE project in the Fall of 2014. For more information, see their beautiful electronic portfolio.
