Josiah Hanson and Renae Bertrand decided to host a silent art auction to benefit Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (a childhood cancer foundation) in order to raise enough money to fund six hours of research.
They created flyers and a large poster for advertising, created a blurb for boxer radio and boxer cast. Josiah and Renae were interviewed for an article on Oregonlive, and also contact multiple art galleries with their flyer asking to advertise on their behalf. Josiah and Renae contacted local artists and artists on campus in order to find people willing to donate art for the auction. They created many documents in order to actually have a smooth event, from arrows it was finally auction day, hung arrows, moved art from storage to the Alumni Room, set up bidding sheets and arranged art, and finally started actually hosting an event at 7:00 pm sharp.
